I’m currently writing the fifth book in the “Glass However, she has promised that once that is complete, her next project will indeed be The Captal's Tower. A fourth volume is completed and due for publication next year, and Rawn is working on a fifth volume. Three books have been published in the Glass Thorns sequence: Touchstone, Elsewhens and Thornlost. Rather than return to the incomplete trilogy, she wrote The Diviner (the long-planned sequel to her 1996 collaborative novel, The Golden Key) and then embarked on a new series, Glass Thorns, a move which irritated many of her fans (not to mention generating substantial commentary on this blog). However, after Spellbinder and its sequel Fire Raiser were published, the new trilogy was cancelled due to poor sales. The author said she needed a new project to recharge her creative batteries before completing the Exiles Trilogy. Rawn's mother, who also served as her first test reader and sounding board for ideas, passed away after this point and Rawn gave up writing for nine years, returning with a new trilogy, Spellbinder, in 2006. Rawn began work on the Exiles Trilogy in the early 1990s, releasing The Ruins of Ambrai in 1994 and The Mageborn Traitor in 1997. 5/23/2023 0 Comments Oathbound victoria mccombsAlthough the crew is riddled with conflicting motivations, they somehow manage to work together, even when promises and secrets threaten to tear them apart. With the exception of my above complaint the writing is simple and easy which helps to make this series really acceptable to beginning readers. Can you really represent both sides of the intellectual scale like this? And also what about the rest of the woodland animals falling for the same fact that no one knows where the moon is? More or less this book will be to the liking of actual children then the grown-ups who are around them since many adults will be wondering how the smart bird is actually pretty dumb when it comes to trying to find the moon. Part of the Moon series (I honestly didn't know there was a series when I was younger), this is one of many books that allows readers to be able to understand the world around them without taking away the magic. A short and enjoyable read for children that helps them to understand that we can have fun if we set our minds to it but also to not be so susceptible to events around us. |
